Teamwork makes the Dream work!
The staff of our school decided that the theme for 2018 at De Kuilen Primary school should be “Teamwork makes the dream work”. It is our aim to incorporate the theme into all aspects of our school and in this manner assist our learners and educators to fulfil all their dreams.
The theme of our school will also be addressed in our assemblies, in the classrooms and on the sportfields.
Our school is also a value- driven school and during the course of 2018 we shall celebrate a value each term. During the first term we shall celebrate respect and use yellow to symbolize the value. Self-discipline will be encouraged in the second term and red will be used to symbolize the value. During the third term we shall celebrate Responsibility and green will be used to create awareness. In the last term, blue will be used to symbolize Honesty.
We trust that our parents will eagerly join our dynamic team in order to fulfil our children’s dreams.De Kuilen Primary is a parallel medium school educating learners on an equal basis through the medium of English and Afrikaans from Gr. R to Gr. 7. The school has a rich history since its inception in 1868. Die school has delivered a service of excellence over many years to the Kuils River community.
Learners are taught in a holistic way. Academic excellence is a major priority of De Kuilen Primary. As far as sport and cultural extra-mural activities are concerned, we offer a wide variety to fulfil every need of the pupils of the school.
We stress the importance of a value driven system in our endeavour to build the future of the pupils of our school. We also concentrate on a strong value system to enable each and every pupil to develop to his/her full potential.
According to the constitution of our country we accommodate the diverse cultures of the people of the immediate surroundings of the school.
The current school building was taken into use in 1939. Further extension to the original building was made at a later stage to accommodate the growing numbers of pupils attending the school.
